NLP is a bit like an ‘owner’s manual’ for your brain. At school and college we learned wonderful things like history and geography and algebra but we did not learn much about how to feel good or to have great relationships. That’s where NLP comes in.
NLP helps you understand and alter unconscious behaviours. NLP teaches how our brain works, how we store the information and the most important, how we can change our behaviours.
NLP – developed in the 1970s has three main components: neuro, language and programming.
Neuro refers to how the mind and body interact.
Linguistic refers to the insights into your thinking that can be obtained by careful attention to your use of language.
Programming refers, not to the activity of programming, but to the study of the thinking and behavioural patterns or ‘programmes’ which you use in your daily life.
NLP may be described best as “the science of human excellence”!
